RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas – The Starr County Industrial Foundation is proud to announce the Starr County Veterans Resource Fair, taking place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at South Texas College – Starr County Campus, Building H, 142 FM 3167, Rio Grande City, TX 78582.
This year’s theme, “Honoring Our Heroes,” reflects the community’s deep gratitude for the men and women who have served our country. The event will provide local veterans and their families with direct access to vital resources, benefits, and programs designed to support their well-being, career advancement, and quality of life.
The Veterans Resource Fair is made possible through a strong collaboration among community and federal partners, including the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), County of Starr, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, South Texas College (STC), STC Veterans Affairs, Texas General Land Office (TXGLO), Workforce Solutions, DHR Health, and Border Region Behavioral Health Center. Together, these partners will offer information and on-site assistance related to education, employment, healthcare, mental health, and business development.
The event will feature two distinguished guest speakers:
- Angela Burton, SBA District Director and U.S. Veteran, will share insight on federal programs and small business opportunities available to veterans.
- LTC (P) James A. Falcon, M.D., U.S. Veteran, will deliver the keynote address, offering an inspiring perspective on leadership, service, and community impact.
“The Starr County Veterans Resource Fair is about giving back to those who have given so much,” said Rose Benavidez, President of the Starr County Industrial Foundation. “Through the support of our partners, we’re ensuring that veterans and their families have access to the tools and resources they need to thrive.”
This free event will also include refreshments, giveaways, and on-site assistance, and is open to all veterans and their families.
