As we prepare to celebrate Veterans Day, let us pause to remember those heroes who never came home, and those who have finally come home.
After 73 years of being lost as a POW/MIA soldier of the Korean War, Army Sgt. Cresenciano Garcia Jr.’s remains were finally returned to his hometown of Laredo, Texas. McAllen International Airport proudly received the remains in a heartfelt homecoming, before being escorted home. Family, City of McAllen leaders, law enforcement agencies and the community gathered to pay their respects, expressing gratitude for Garcia’s ultimate sacrifice and celebrating his return to his rightful place.
