LAREDO COLLEGE – In this season of giving and holiday cheer, Laredo College joins thousands of organizations and agencies that do their best to give even more during this time of the year. This week, the LC Associated Student Organization, the LC Police Department and the LC Trading Station brought happiness to many students at the Spirit of Giving Toy Drive.

Nearly 400 toys were collected from students, staff and special donors such as Leyendecker Construction Co., LC Interim President Dr. Marisela Rodriguez Tijerina, LC Associate Dean of Students and Title IX Coordinator Raquel A. Peña and Donor Relations and Special Projects Director Sara Pompa. These toys were distributed among LC students who wished to make their loved ones happy this season and could not purchase toys due to difficult circumstances. This event is the second toy drive the college organizes to make many kids and their parents have a joyous holiday.

“The holidays are hard [for some] LC students, especially during these uncertain times,” the Office of Student Life Director Carmelino Castillo Jr. said. “[The LC] Trading Station along with LC staff and students want to demonstrate that we are here to help each other in times of need.”
