Attention all Art Teachers!!  Want to give your students their first project for the year?  Sept. 15th to October 15th is celebrated as Hispanic Heritage month in the US.  The RGV Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is holding their annual Student Art Contest during the month of Hispanic Heritage.  The Art Contest is for Jr. High and High School students.  They need to express their thoughts on what Hispanic Heritage means to them on a 16 x 20 paper, canvas, etc.  All mediums will be accepted.  Deadline to submit art work is Oct. 3rd.

Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.  Best of Show will also be picked by the committee of judges.  The winner’s artwork will be displayed at the local and Washington offices of Congressmen Ruben Hinojosa, Henry Cuellar and Filemon Vela, Jr.   A Reception to display the winning art will be held on Oct. 15th and is open to the public from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
