EDINBURG, Texas – FuturoRGV, along with South Texas College, the Rio Grande Valley Partnership, and Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, is hosting a morning-long forum to discuss the efforts of the Hidalgo County Prosperity Task Force to build a human capital pipeline.
The Prosperity Task Force, created by Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez, has been addressing the disproportionate amount of poverty in Hidalgo County for the past three years. The forum, which is open to the public, will focus on the challenges of mitigating the poverty rate locally by developing human capital through job training and job creation.
“Our goal is to move as many people as possible out of the welfare line and into the taxpayer line by creating job training and job placement opportunities,” Judge Cortez said. “This forum is an important step in educating the public about our ambitious plans.”
The media is invited to attend.
