WESLACO – As part of an ongoing road construction project, Hidalgo County Precinct 1 announced the closure of a section of Mile 10 N. at the intersection of Mile 6 W. in Weslaco. The area will be closed to traffic as contractors excavate the full depth of the roadway.
All construction areas will be marked by barricades and road closure signs. Precinct 1 Commissioner David L. Fuentes is asking the public to abide by all signage and follow designated traffic routes.
“The reconstruction of this roadway will improve the quality of life for area residents, business and schools,” said Fuentes. “We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.”
The project is scheduled to start Friday, September 24 and will take 5-6 weeks to complete, weather permitting. Construction crews will be onsite from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., however the road will be closed 24/7 to traffic for about a month.
