EDINBURG – All Hidalgo County offices will delay its start until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, because of the ongoing inclement weather.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hard Freeze Warning beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday and lasting until 10 a.m. Wednesday. And while precipitation is expected to leave the area by this time, there remain concerns about the possibility of black ice on roadways until the Hard Freeze Warning is lifted.
Jurors scheduled to serve in the 206th District Court are asked to arrive for jury duty no later than 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
“Hidalgo County residents heeded the weather warning and there were no major weather-related problems beyond some road closures and some electrical outages,” said Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez. “But out of caution, we have decided to delay the start of the county workday and we ask for the public’s patience.”
