EDINBURG – Hidalgo County Commissioners took a moment of silence during a Thursday court meeting to honor the memory of Precinct 1, Place 2 Justice of the Peace Jesus “Jesse” Morales, who died on June 18, 2024.
Judge Morales served the people of Hidalgo County and Precinct 1 for 33 years, beginning his tenure in office on January 1, 1991.
He was a lifelong resident of Weslaco and the proud father of four children, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
“Public service is a calling and Judge Morales exemplified that calling,” said Precinct 1 Commissioner David Fuentes. “The Hidalgo County family mourns his loss.”
