Edinburg, Texas–The Hidalgo County email system was compromised, according to an e-mail sent this morning by Hilda Salinas the public information specialist for Hidalgo County and on behalf of Hidalgo County Judge Ramon Garcia.

The matter has been reported to the appropriate authorities. Hidalgo County Information Technology Department is working with the County’s network security consultant to address the breach and will report any information to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
