EAGLE PASS, Texas – Laura Hinojosa, Hidalgo County District Clerk, was nominated today by her peers for the District Clerk of Year Award during the County & District Clerks’ Association of Texas (CDCAT), Region VIII Spring Meeting held in Eagle Pass, Texas. Every year, two outstanding clerks, a county clerk and a district clerk, are honored for their outstanding contributions and notable service to the association, their counties and the State of Texas.
“I am deeply honored and grateful to be nominated for the Clerk of the Year Award by my peers. Their recognition is a reflection of the collaborative spirit and support that exists within our clerk-family. Further, it is a true testament to the commitment and dedication of my amazing staff who go above and beyond to serve our constituents in Hidalgo County,” said Hinojosa.
The CDCAT consists of eight regions across the State, each of which are responsible for nominating their regional clerk of the year representatives. The Clerk of the Year Awards will be presented to the two nominees receiving the largest number of votes cast during the 130th Annual CDCAT Conference scheduled for June 8-12, 2025, in Sugar Land, Texas.
The purpose of the Association is to promote professional standards, to provide a means for the education of its members regarding the statutory and constitutional duties of the offices of the county clerk and the district clerk, and to participate in the legislative, judicial and executive processes of state government beneficial in the performance of the members’ duties
