EDINBURG, Texas – In observance of Child Abuse Awareness Month, celebrated in April, the Hidalgo County Clerk’s Office hosted its annual “Go Blue Campaign,” collecting a total of $718 that was donated to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo and Starr Counties.
The Clerk’s Office observed child abuse prevention by hosting its annual “Go Blue Campaign,” displaying posters advocating against child abuse and collecting donations from the public to benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo and Starr Counties.
“I want to thank our staff and the public for donating to this important cause,” said Hidalgo County Clerk Arturo Guajardo, Jr. “We support the mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hidalgo and Starr Counties, and we hope these donations will aid in helping as many children as possible.”
This is the 16th year of the annual campaign. Throughout the month, every Monday was designated as “Blue Day,” and employees wore their official blue County Clerk t-shirts and jeans. Donation slips were placed on the counters, and members of the public who were doing business at the office had the opportunity to donate toward the cause.
The office’s top two collectors were Maria Ana De Leon ($264) and Monette Jasso ($46).
