HARLINGEN- The TxDOT Travel Information Center, at 2021 West Harrison in Harlingen, will temporarily close, beginning Friday, July 25, for building maintenance. A tentative reopening is planned for August 5.
The local center is one of several across the state staffed with professional counselors providing current information on points of interest, events and road conditions in the state. Also provided are free maps and a variety of free statewide and local travel literature.
During the temporary closure, public restrooms and Wi-Fi will not be available. However, tourists can still access travel information by calling 1-800-452-9292 or by visiting DriveTexas.Org.
