Those in need of a job or looking for a career change can register for the event by visiting https://portal.premiervirtual.com/event/register-jobseeker/5897-harlingen-hires.

The registration takes no more than 30-seconds and once registered, job seekers may upload their resume and receive further instructions on what to expect the day of the event.

“If you can text on your phone, you can register for this event – it’s really that easy,” Rey Tejada, Workforce Solutions Cameron Business Services Manager, said.

“The day of the event, job seekers click on the event and browse the employer booths. There will be an option to video chat if an employer requests it. It’s as close to an in-person event as possible and just as effective.”

The platform also makes things easy for participating employers and they can schedule interviews with job seekers. Tejada added that they are still recruiting employers and if interested, employers can call 956-368-5200 ext. 432.

There is no fee for either employers or job seekers to participate in this event.

“There is no shortage of employers in Harlingen and surrounding areas. Companies are hiring and people are looking for employment,” Harlingen EDC, CEO, Raudel Garza, said.

“The pandemic did increase unemployment county-wide and this event will connect those individuals seeking employment with employers. We have a very strong and skilled workforce ready to fill those positions.”
