December 15, 2025- State Representative Bobby Guerra announced his endorsement of Victor “Seby” Haddad for Texas House District 41 on December 15, 2025, lending support to Seby Haddad’s campaign ahead of the 2026 election cycle.
“Today I officially endorse Victor ‘Seby’ Haddad for Texas House District 41,” Guerra said in a statement. “Seby is a respected public servant, small business owner, and devoted husband and father – a true champion for South Texas.”
Guerra said he believes Seby will represent the district’s residents effectively at the state level. “He will fight to put working families first and will represent our community with the integrity and common sense our neighborhoods need at the Texas Capitol,” Guerra said. “I am proud to endorse Victor ‘Seby’ Haddad to lead Texas House District 41 and South Texas into the future.”
Seby currently serves as McAllen City Commissioner for District 5 and as Mayor Pro Tem. He is officially a candidate for Texas State Representative District 41 and is seeking the seat in the 2026 election. Haddad is a lifelong resident of McAllen and has a background in public service and business.
“For years, I have had the privilege of serving the community that raised me, and I am incredibly proud of the progress we have made,” Seby said. “We have shown that a strong focus on infrastructure, business development, and quality of life can lead to tangible results for our residents.”
Seby said his decision to run for the Texas House is driven by a desire to expand that work to the state level. “Now, I am ready to take that same passion and commitment to Austin to fight for the needs of the entire South Texas region,” he said.
During his time as a city commissioner, Seby has supported initiatives focused on growth and investment. His work has included major drainage and infrastructure projects, community reinvestment efforts, and the promotion of programs such as “Imagine Tomorrow” and “Refresh 50/50,” which support local small businesses. He also played a role in the effort to establish term limits in McAllen.
Seby has also served as President of the Texas Municipal League Region 12, where he worked with leaders from cities and organizations across the Lower Rio Grande Valley. His role involved coordination on regional issues, including economic development, infrastructure, public safety, and legislative advocacy.
In addition to his public service, he has experience as a community banker and small business owner, which he says informs his understanding of the local economy.
“The time is now to ensure that our region has a strong voice in the Texas House,” Seby said. “I am dedicated to building on the progress we’ve made locally and working tirelessly to secure a better future for the families and businesses of District 41.”
