As a preventive measure against the spread of the coronavirus, the Government of Tamaulipas, through the Health State Office, the State Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks and the Ministry of Social Welfare, installed this Monday sanitary screenings at fifteen international crossings used daily by thousands of people traveling from the United States into Mexico.
The measure came into effect after the announcement made by the Governments of Mexico and the United States to restrict the crossing of people through international bridges, as part of the actions taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
During the following days, 250 people will be in charge of monitoring the people who enter the country, taking their body temperature, applying antibacterial gel and applying a survey to identify possible risk cases.
The deployment of this sanitary operation is carried out in the pedestrian, vehicle, cargo transport, and line bus accesses. Two international crossings where their traffic conditions pose a risk to the members of the filters will be included shortly once a safe location of the health personnel is resolved.
The personnel responsible for the screenings also distribute information on the official sources authorized to issue updates regarding the coronavirus cases, as well as contact details in the state of Tamaulipas.
