PHARR – The Friends of the Wildlife Corridor recently presented the PSJA Education Foundation with an $8,000 contribution to expand the funds provided to PSJA Teachers, as part of the organization’s Mini-Grants Program. The funds are geared to support environmentally friendly projects.
The check was presented by Sharon Slagle, President of the organization and long-time member of the PSJA Family.
The Friends of the Wildlife Corridor has partnered with PSJA ISD for the last several years to ensure the preservation of the area’s natural habitat. PSJA ISD schools support this goal by planting butterfly gardens and native plants. These areas are also utilized as outside classrooms and they are incorporated into daily lessons. The overall goal is for PSJA ISD students to become stewards of their local flora and fauna for future generations.
