Edinburg, Texas – Frank Guerrero, a dedicated public servant and a respected member of the community, has officially filed to be on the ballot for Hidalgo County Sheriff in the upcoming 2024 Democratic Primary Elections. With an unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the county’s residents, Guerrero aims to bring his extensive experience and visionary leadership to the forefront of the law enforcement landscape.
As a resident of Hidalgo County, Guerrero understands the unique challenges and opportunities that exist within the community. With a distinguished career spanning 20 years in various law enforcement roles, including Deputy Sheriff, Investigator, Sergeant, SWAT Operator, K-9 Handler and Lieutenant. Guerrero has managed a successful professional security guard firm, creating jobs in Hidalgo County. Additionally, Guerrero managed and operated a 600-person jail in Batavia, New York for the Department of Homeland Security, Frank is well- equipped to address the evolving needs of our diverse population and to promote a safer and more secure Hidalgo County.
Frank Guerrero highlights the following pressing issues affecting our community:
- I am dedicated to reducing our rising crime rate through proactive police enforcement and crime prevention programs. I believe that educating our community about crime prevention is key to safeguarding our neighborhoods.
- Wasteful spending is a thing of the past. Your hard-earned tax dollars will be protected, ensuring that they benefit YOU and our local economy. No more losing jobs, money and resources to other counties.
- The jail overcrowding problem and mismanagement will be decisively tackled by Expedited booking and releasing processes, along with innovative programs for reintegrating offenders safely into society, will be introduced, ensuring fairness and efficiency.
- Public corruption is a cancer that robs us of vital infrastructure: streets, drainage system, street lighting, parks, school resources and more. I am the ONLY candidate for office committed to combating public corruption.
- The revolving door of employees at the sheriff’s office ends now! I understand the importance of valuing every member of our sheriff’s office, from janitors, administrative staff, dispatchers, detention officers to deputies. Better wages, fair opportunities, collective bargaining agreement, and a positive workplace environment will be prioritized under my leadership.
Our leadership team aims to bring awareness to mental health challenges, support our loved ones with special needs,combat family violence, promote DWI prevention programs, and give a voice to our furry friends. I am committed toimplementing programs that address the pressing issues affecting our community.
