BROWNSVILLE, Texas – On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, Fort Brown Border Patrol Station agents hosted an oral board interview training for the Fort Brown Explorer Post 975. The training included familiarization of the Border Patrol hiring process, to include proper dress attire, presentation, preparation, resume building, and attitude. Oral board interviews are used by law enforcement agencies during the hiring process because of its effectiveness for evaluating potential candidates.
“After a short time in the Border Patrol Explorer Program, many explorers fully embrace the lifestyle and moral code that is expected of those who wear a law enforcement badge”, said Special Operations Supervisor Victor Cardenas.
The Border Patrol Explorer Program offers young adults a personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences, competition and other activities. Additionally, the program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship, and patriotism.
