South Texas College alumnus Sam Garcia was recently recognized for becoming the youngest Hispanic to join Harvard Law Faculty as a lecturer, for his success as a venture capitalist and as a two-time, Amazon best-selling author – and now, Forbes has listed him on its prestigious 30 Under 30 list for 2024.
Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list recognizes 600 of the brightest leaders, entrepreneurs and stars from North America.
The STC, University of Texas and Harvard alum’s name can be found under Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Venture Capitalist list for his successful career as a partner at Amplo VC, a global venture capital firm that helps support entrepreneurs building globally ambitious companies that matter, leading investments in 13 companies, including LegalPad, Lightyear, Aryeo, Flume, ReMatter and Focal Point.
Garcia’s accolades also include his work on seven board of directors and as vice president of SomosVC (formerly LatinXVC), a nonprofit organization focused on growing and supporting LatinX venture capitalist.
“Getting here has been an uphill battle, from battling rejection from the McCombs School of Business at UT (University of Texas) before finally being accepted, to this, makes this momentous for me,” said Garcia. “It’s an honor being among names and portfolios I deeply respect and admire. It’s exciting getting to bring this award, recognition to the Valley and to the institutions, like STC, that made me.”
