PHARR, Texas – The Food Bank RGV celebrated the spirit of Thanksgiving by providing crucial support to 1,000 families in the community on Thursday, November 14, 2024. This special Thanksgiving Turkey Distribution was funded in part through the generous sponsorship of Tito’s Handmade Vodka and brought together by 100 volunteers dedicated to ensuring local families could enjoy a hearty holiday meal.
The distribution featured not only turkeys but an array of essential items to create balanced holiday feasts. Families received household staples including bread, eggs, cereal, bags of potatoes, fresh produce, and canned goods. The initiative highlighted the strength of community partnerships and volunteerism, showcasing the impact that a collective effort can have on food security in the region.
“We are deeply grateful to Tito’s Handmade Vodka for their sponsorship, which helped make this Thanksgiving distribution possible,” said Libby A. Saenz, CEO of Food Bank RGV. “Their continued support means so much to our community, and we encourage others to follow their example by making donations or supporting the Food Bank in any way they can.”
