PHARR, TX, NOVEMBER 2, 2017 – The Food Bank RGV will partner with the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System (VATVCBHCS) to distribute food relief for local Veterans, from 9 a.m. to Noon, Monday, Nov. 13 at the McAllen Outpatient Clinic located at 901 E. Hackberry, McAllen, Texas. Veterans are asked to enter through Jasmine Avenue just north of the clinic.
“We are excited to partner with Veterans Affairs,” said DeAnne Economedes, Food Bank RGV Interim CEO & COO. “Veterans have done so much for us. We want to be able to give back and we hope this produce distribution will be a great start.”
The fresh produce and non-perishable food distribution is for local Veterans. Proof of military service and a short intake form will be the only requirement. U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Police are asking that Veterans wanting to receive produce, enter through the Jasmine Avenue entrance.
“Our mission is to care for our Veterans here in the Rio Grande Valley,” said VATVCBHCS Director Mr. Joe A. Perez. “We are always pleased when the community rallies around this noble mission, and I applaud Food Bank RGV for their efforts to improve the lives of our Veterans.”
