RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TX – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has launched a significant Valley-wide marketing campaign led by season ticket holders across the Valley standing up and saying, “I’ve Got Mine.”
The message is a call to #RallyTheValley as community and campus leaders, students, faculty, and staff throughout the Rio Grande Valley come together to encourage their friends, family, neighbors, and fellow community members to support UTRGV athletic programs through the purchase of basketball, baseball, and volleyball season tickets.
“This is important to me because I’m an alum and I’ve always supported athletics at UTRGV and our legacy institutions,” said UTRGV legacy alum (UT Brownsville class of 1996) Jason Leal, who is currently the Chairman of the UTRGV Foundation Board, a multi-year Champions Club member, and Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Texas Regional Bank. “Over the last few years, this department has grown and gained significant recognition. I’m proud to say, ‘I’ve Got Mine,’ and hope that everyone around the Valley will join me.”
“I’m a huge fan of Division I athletics and I love what UTRGV is doing to Rally the Valley, specifically in Brownsville,” said Nick Serafy, a multi-year Champions Club member who is also the President and CEO of Proficiency Testing Service in Brownsville. “I am proud to be able to support these student-athletes and call on everyone to join me in standing up to say, ‘I’ve Got Mine.’”
This campaign includes marketing pieces on billboards, social media, television, and in print that will feature community members and members of the UTRGV campus community communicating the simple message, “I’ve Got Mine.”
“We have been overwhelmed by the positive response throughout the Rio Grande Valley as we launch this campaign in an effort to truly #RallyTheValley,” UTRGV Vice President and Director of Athletics Chasse Conque said. “Over the next several months, we will feature nearly 150 UTRGV supporters who believe in the value of having a strong Division I athletics program in the Rio Grande Valley. Season tickets are a great way for our community to invest in our student-athletes. We are thankful for those that have already said, “I’ve Got Mine,” and encourage others to follow their example by supporting our student-athletes.”
