RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Volleyball Head Coach Todd Lowery announced on Thursday the return of 5-1 freshman libero Evana Ramos for the 2021 season.
Ramos joined the team in the spring after graduating from Edinburg North in December. She earned District 31-6A MVP honors as a senior by averaging 2.60 kills while serving up 347 aces in 120 sets. She averaged 8.80 digs per set during sophomore and junior years.
“Evanahad the luxury of joining us early this spring, and although she couldn’t play, we know the impact she will have on our defense will be felt right away,” Lowery said. “She has really taken the weight room training seriously and as she gains experience; she has all the tools to be a top libero in our conference.”
Ramos joins 5-7 freshman libero Luanna Emiliano, 6-0 freshman outside hitter Ingridy Foltran and 5-8 freshman outside hitter Perris Key as part of the 2021 recruiting class.
