AUSTIN –The buying and selling of residential and commercial real estate in Texas is a primary driver of ourstate’s economy, and the title insurance professionals who are keeping real estate transactions flowing under challenging and unprecedented public health protocols were honored last week with the James H. Garst President’s Award during the Texas Land Title Association’s annual conference.
Speaking to the statewide trade association’s virtual gathering of more than 500 real estate professionals from across the State of Texas, TLTA’s 105th President Michael C. Savas saluted the essential, front line escrow teams and support professionals who, “didn’t know how safe was safe enough at the beginning of all this. But they knew that their work was essential to keeping our economy moving in the right direction, and they continued serving customers using brave, inventive, flexible approaches to close deals and keep real estate transactions flowing.”
The James H. Garst President’s Award recognizes the contributions of individuals who provided staunch service to TLTA’s presidents during their year in office. Savas cited drive-by closings, the use of Remote Ink Notarizations (RIN), and other innovative tools among the reasons he honored all of the industry’s essential workers with the James H. Garst President’s Award. “Every time our front line folks help Texans buy and sell real estate, refinance existing mortgages, or unlock essential capital through home equity loans, they’re keeping the economy alive,” Savas noted during his remarks. “Their selfless sacrifices and dedication to getting the deal done represent the strength of our industry’s commitment to our communities.”
Texas title insurance professionals provide essential, meaningful services day in and day out, working the front lines through the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond to keep our real estate economy healthy and thriving.
