The Women’s Council of Realtors held the Annual Installation Banquet on Thursday, December 8 at the McAllen Country Club. Ramon Ignacio (Nacho) Pecina, III, (Zapphire Real Estate Group) 2016 President, was recognized for his service and leadership to the organization by Texas Network President Ethel O’Dell. Laura Ann Diaz (Keller Williams RGV), was installed as incoming President by Texas Secretary of State Carlos H. Cascos, who served as the Installation Master. She will take office effective January 1, 2017.
During the presentation of the 2016 President’s Awards and the special acknowledgement of WCR members who rose above service to the organization, President Pecina announced that Elva Jackson Garza, Vice President and Marketing Manager with Edwards Abstract and Title Co. was honored as the Member of the Year. “Elva Jackson Garza is very deserving of the award as she has been instrumental in sharing the message regarding the opportunities that the Women’s Council of Realtors McAllen Chapter has to offer real estate industry professionals,” said Nacho Pecina. She has served on the WCR Governing Board as Program Chair for the past three years and has been actively involved in all facets of the organization. Jackson Garza has coordinated the program speakers and sponsors for the monthly meetings which have positively impacted support and attendance of the Women’s Council of Realtors McAllen Chapter Business Resource Meetings.
“It is a pleasure to work with such an energetic group of real estate industry leaders,” said Elva Jackson Garza. “I want to thank the Nominating Committee headed by Former WCR President Rosanna Muniz (Century 21 Muniz Realty) for the special recognition and award as the Member of the Year. I look forward to 2017 and the new programs that will be offered to the WCR membership,” she added.
The Women’s Council of Realtors McAllen Network is a group of real estate industry professionals and affiliate members whose mission is to advance women and all of the members including men, as professionals and leaders in business, the industry and the communities they serve. WCR is a statewide and national volunteer based organization that empowers members by providing education, monthly industry related program. The Women’s Council of Realtors McAllen Chapter meets at the McAllen Country Club from 11:30-1:00. The next meeting is scheduled on Thursday, January 12.
