ELSA, Texas – The Elsa Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is delighted to announce the exciting addition of Scooter’s Coffee, LLC, a highly successful drive-thru coffee franchise from the Midwest, to our flourishing city in the Rio Grande Valley.
Daniel Rivera, the Executive Director of the Elsa Economic Development Corporation, expressed his enthusiasm for this development, stating, “We are thrilled to attract renowned franchises like Scooter’s Coffee to Elsa. This is a testament to our city’s potential for growth and our commitment to fostering a thriving business environment. Just like other cities in the RGV, Elsa is experiencing tremendous growth, and the arrival of Scooter’s Coffee is a significant milestone in our journey.”
Wes Hudson and Pedro Camacho, esteemed partners in the produce industry for over a decade, recognized the untapped opportunity for a specialty coffee shop in Elsa. They were determined to diversify their business endeavors through franchising and found the perfect fit in Scooter’s Coffee. Hudson emphasized, “Elsa residents were previously driving long distances, often 8 to 10 miles, just to enjoy a latte. With Scooter’s Coffee now in town, we are bringing the convenience and quality of specialty coffee closer to our community.”
The Elsa EDC played a vital role in facilitating this venture, assisting Hudson and Camacho in securing a prime location for their drive-thru kiosk. “Our collaborative efforts have led to the perfect spot for the Scooter’s Coffee kiosk,” shared Hudson. “Situated near the Pacific Trails park, the skate park, and a bike trail that connects to the high school, our location offers accessibility and convenience. In addition to the drive-thru, we have included a walk-up window to cater to foot traffic, and outdoor seating will be available for customers who wish to savor their coffee on-site.”
Scooter’s Coffee, with its headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, has gained a well-deserved reputation for its exceptional artisan espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, freshly baked pastries, and its renowned signature drink, the Caramelicious®. The company’s commitment to innovation is evident through its recent expansion, which includes a line of organic hot and iced teas, single-origin coffee, and Cold Brew & Cream.
Recent market trends compiled by the National Coffee Association have highlighted the unwavering popularity of coffee among Americans. With 60 percent of the population enjoying coffee on a daily basis, it surpasses other beverages such as tea, juice, soda, and tap water. Furthermore, 28% of individuals reported purchasing coffee at a coffee shop or restaurant within the past day, signifying a strong consumer demand. The drive-thru coffee model, particularly favored in our fast-paced society, has experienced exponential growth during the pandemic, providing customers with a safe and efficient way to enjoy their favorite beverages. Scooter’s Coffee, with its Brand Promise of “Amazing People, Amazing Drinks… Amazingly Fast! ®,” is poised to cater to this increasing demand.
Wes Hudson also shared his ambitious vision, stating, “Our long-term goal is to establish 10 Scooter’s Coffee locations in this area, providing our community with convenient access to quality coffee.”
Kelly Crummer, Scooter’s Coffee Senior Director of Franchise Recruitment, emphasized the potential of the Rio Grande Valley market, stating, “The Elsa, Texas location presents a fantastic opportunity for our brand to expand its reach and introduce our exceptional products and services to a new audience.”
