EL PASO, Texas—The El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens is excited to announce its widely anticipated Summer Zoo Camps for children 6 to 10 years old with registration now open.
The immersive camp sessions will be weekly from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday starting June 3 through August 2. Campers will have a unique opportunity to come face-to-face with a wide array of animals, learn about their habitats, take part in conservation efforts, and enjoy fun-filled activities.
Campers will participate in tours, behind-the-scenes encounters, and interactive games. The goal of the zoo is to foster a sense of profound respect for nature and wildlife through hands-on experiences and engaging educational programs.
“The El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens believes in animal education through entertainment and these camps offer a wild adventure for children,” said El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens Director Joe Montisano. “Where else can a child enjoy a close-up encounter with exotic animals all while learning about the importance of saving wildlife!”
Additional activities include understanding animal behavior, assisting in the feeding of animals, creating animal enrichment treats, engaging in crafting sessions using natural materials, and learning about the importance of sustainability. The camps also provide an opportunity to make new friends, indulge in physical activities, and learn leadership skills. Campers will team up for exciting scavenger hunts, team-building exercises, and much more.
