In an event that summarizes the essence of progress and community engagement, Edwards Abstract and Title Company recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of its flagship event, the State of Real Estate Forum. Hosted in a setting filled with anticipation and friendship, the forum served as a mark for professionals across the real estate sector, highlighting the company’s fundamental role in shaping the industry’s landscape.
The forum was kicked off with a warm introduction by Elva Jackson Garza, the Vice President and Marketing Manager at Edwards Abstract and Title Company. Her words not only set the tone for the day but also reflected the company’s deep-rooted commitment to fostering an environment where community leaders and customers can gain a comprehensive understanding of the local, state, and national economic forecasts. Jackson Garza emphasized the importance of the event as a platform for knowledge sharing and the critical role of the company’s president and CEO, Byron J. Lewis, in steering the company’s vision toward innovation and customer-centric service.
As humble as it is determined, Byron Lewis shared his gratitude and vision for the gathering, recalling the forum’s modest beginnings with just 50 guests. Lewis’s remarks highlighted the event’s exponential growth and, by extension, the company’s growth and dedication to its customers and the community. He pointed out the significance of collaboration, even among competitors, to ensure the success of the Valley’s real estate and title industry.
2024 marks an extraordinary milestone for Edwards Abstract and Title Company as it celebrates 144 years of service in South Texas. The journey from its inception in Rio Grande City by Judge Edwards, armed with nothing but a mule and an interpreter, to becoming a recognized leader in the title insurance industry, showcases the company’s resilience and commitment to excellence. Despite its rich history, Lewis highlighted the importance of adapting to the present needs of their clients through service and technology, inspired by early advice from Stewart Title’s senior leadership.
The State of Real Estate Forum served as a celebration of two decades of excellence of Edwards Abstract and Title Company’s enduring legacy of service, innovation, and community involvement. The event reflected a forward-thinking approach, emphasizing the importance of customer feedback and accessibility to company leaders, underlining Byron Lewis’s role not just as CEO but as a “highly compensated service representative” dedicated to meeting and exceeding the needs of their clients.
Edwards Abstract and Title Co. presented Dr. Ted C. Jones, a renowned national economist and Sr. Vice President, headlined the 20th Annual State of Real Estate Forum as the keynote speaker. His insights are always eagerly anticipated, given his expertise and standing in economics.
Furthermore, the forum featured Dr. Guy Bailey, President of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, as a guest speaker.
As Edwards Abstract and Title Company looks towards the future, it remains committed in its mission to provide unparalleled service and foster growth within the real estate community. The 20th annual State of Real Estate Forum was a milestone and a reaffirmation of the company’s values, leadership, and commitment to excellence, which will undoubtedly continue to shape the industry for years.
