Edwards Abstract and Title Co. is pleased to announce that the title insurance company will host the 2nd Annual State of Real Estate Forum in Cameron County on Thursday, November 20, 2014. After serving the Rio Grande Valley and South Texas for the past 134 years, Edwards Abstract and Title Co. continues to take the lead in presenting a program that allows those who attend to gain knowledge and information that will impact the way they do business. An impressive panel of guest speakers have been scheduled to address business and real estate industry professionals.

Dr. Mark G. Dotzour will headline the Forum as the keynote speaker. Dr. Dotzour’s presentation is titled The Economic Outlook for Investors and Business Decision Makers. He is the Chief Economist with the Texas A & M Real Estate Center. He delivers 60-100 speeches each year to a wide variety of audiences. His goal for each of his presentations is to synthesize global, social, and economic trends to give his audience a tool kit of factual information to help them make good investment and business decisions.

The 2nd Annual State of Real Estate Forum will be held at the Holiday Inn in Brownsville (3777 N. Expressway) from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Registration will start at 8:30 and the program begins at 9:00 a.m.

Edwards Abstract and Title Co. welcomes the participation of Mayor Tony Martinez, City of Brownsville. In August, Mayor Martinez announced that SpaceX has officially declared Boca Chica Beach in Cameron County as the site for its commercial launch facility. “SpaceX’s presence in the Brownsville area will transform our region by creating jobs and stimulating not only our city’s economy, but that of the entire Rio Grande Valley,” said Mayor Martinez. “Brownsville, along with its many partners, is ready for this next chapter in our history.” The city is also preparing for the influence of the new university, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and the changes to the landscape of Cameron County.

Eduardo (Eddie) Campirano, Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Port of Brownville will share information on the vital role, growth and expansion that the operation of the Port plays in the area. The Port of Brownsville is a leading in-transit port and major importer of steel in the United States. The Port is guided by its vision to create quality jobs, attract private and public investment, increase its cargo handling capacity and promote the common good of the region by strategic economic development of its land holdings.

The State of Real Estate Forum is an important component of Edwards Abstract and Title Co.’s business model. The State of Real Estate Forum was created as a unique program that provides the latest data related to the local, state and national economy, and real estate industry.
