Edinburg, TX— Three parks in the City of Edinburg will soon undergo construction as city staff gears up to improve the facilities available to residents at outdoor recreation spaces. The community can expect to see those changes at Frontier Park, Bicentennial Park, and Memorial Park beginning Monday, June 24, 2024, when the work is set to begin.
The project includes adding new restrooms at Frontier Park and Bicentennial Park, as well as a concession stand at the latter facility. Memorial Park will receive a re-roof and interior remodel of its existing restroom and concession stand. All three parks will remain open for residents to enjoy this summer, with only a portion of each sectioned off during the construction period.
The $1 million project is estimated to be completed by January 2025. The City of Edinburg will host the groundbreaking ceremony at Frontier Park, 900 N. First Avenue, at 10 a.m.
