Edinburg, Texas – Edinburg will soon be home to a new family-friendly sports restaurant that is co-owned by NFL star and Texas native Drew Brees. Edinburg EDC is excited to announce that it will host a groundbreaking ceremony and reception for Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar, the first franchise in the Rio Grande Valley, on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at 11 am at the restaurant’s future home located at 415 W. Trenton Rd. in Edinburg.
“We are thrilled to be the first city in the Rio Grande Valley to welcome Walk-On’s,” said Edinburg Mayor and EEDC Director, Richard Molina. “With its family-friendly atmosphere, focus on sports, and great food, this will be an exciting new attraction for our community and for sports and food enthusiasts around the Rio Grande Valley,” he continued.
Walk-On’s, a Baton Rouge-based franchise, is renowned for its signature Louisiana-style menu served up in a game-day atmosphere. With locations across Louisiana, they recently opened restaurants in Texas including in Lubbock, San Antonio, and Tyler. Their most recent groundbreaking was in Dallas-Forth Worth. This will be the first Walk-On’s to be located in the Rio Grande Valley.

Representatives from Walk-On’s will attend the groundbreaking and reception. All media and the public are invited to attend.
