EDINBURG – The Edinburg Rotary Club recently recognized the top students from the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program.
“Our students love to be honored for their work and especially because a lot of them are participating in externships and receiving hands-on experiences,” said Edinburg CISD CTE Director Arminda Lozano. “Our students are very grateful and very honored to be recognized for their accomplishments.”
The students’ recognition is part of the Edinburg Rotary’s Student of the Month Program held during the community service organization’s luncheon meeting at the Echo Hotel. Rotarians heard from the students, who spoke about their CTE experiences, accomplishments, and goals after high school during a video presentation.
“Our CTE Program offers students many different opportunities to go into different career pathways. It provides them with the opportunity to start early on and to start exploring all the different types of careers that are out there,” Lozano said.
Edinburg CISD offers more than 150 CTE career-oriented courses, including automotive, cosmetology, health science, pharmacy tech, forensic science, and culinary arts.
