EDINBURG, Texas – This morning, Edinburg Police patrol units took a report of a terroristic threat involving a male suspect who allegedly threatened to “shoot up” the South Texas Behavioral Center. The suspect reportedly made the threats because his girlfriend is a current patient at the facility and he wanted her out.
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) took over the investigation and obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect, identified as Timothy Leos. Detectives were able to track down Leos and his vehicle in the rural Mission, TX area.
With the assistance of a DPS helicopter, the vehicle was identified and safely stopped near Stewart Road and State Highway 107 by a Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Deputy. Leos was arrested without incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
