EDINBURG, Texas – The Edinburg Police Department has arrested a suspect following an investigation into a reported burglary that led to the discovery of serious criminal activity.
Further inquiries revealed that the suspect, Carlos Daniel Garcia, 27 was acquainted with the juvenile, having initially met through a dating application. Investigators determined that the two later communicated via text messages, during which Garcia allegedly sent explicit photographs of himself and solicited sexual activity. Garcia also reportedly admitted to engaging in sexual activity with the juvenile on one occasion at his apartment.
As a result of the investigation, on January 6, 2026, Garcia was arrested without incident. He has been charged with:
- Sexual Assault of a Child (Bond: $25,000)
- Online Solicitation of a Minor (Bond: $20,000)
