EDINBURG, Texas –  The Edinburg Police Department is committed to raising awareness about the dangers of drunk driving and invites the community to a special event on December 4 at 6 p.m. at Edinburg City Hall. The event will feature a powerful presentation by When Sean Speaks, an organization dedicated to sharing the impactful story of Sean Carter, who survived a devastating crash caused by drunk driving in 2005.

Sean Carter, who was left unable to speak or walk after the crash, will share his journey of survival and resilience. Through the use of an assistive communication device, Sean will recount the life-changing event that altered his future and underscore the tragic consequences of drunk driving.

Edinburg PD invites everyone to attend this impactful presentation and take proactive steps in support of the “Make a Plan” initiative launched last year to combat drunk driving. Attendees will hear firsthand how one choice can change lives forever, reinforcing the importance of having a plan before consuming alcohol. Whether it’s designating a sober driver, using a rideshare service, or arranging alternative transportation, planning ahead aligns with the department’s ongoing efforts to save lives and prevent tragedy on our roads.
