The City of Edinburg Parks and Recreation Department is working on construction of the city’s first public outdoor fitness court. It’s a seven movement, seven-minute bodyweight fitness circuit. Residents can choose an exercise for each station and move from Station 1 through Station 7.

“This is about promoting a healthy community and giving people the tools to get active,” said Mayor Richard Molina. “We want our residents to be able to head to the park for a walk or run and get in a quick work out while they are there and it won’t cost a dime.”

Residents will be able to work their core, do squats, pushups, lunges, pull ups, work on agility and flexibility, too.  Each station is a 45 second work out, with 15 seconds of rest before moving to the next station.  Crews are building the fitness court now and expect it to be ready and open to the public in July.
