‘Tis the season! The city of Edinburg is pleased to introduce an all-new holiday celebration for its residents- a drive-thru style ‘Holiday at the Park’ event!

In an effort to continue our annual holiday traditions and keep our community safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic, city officials are asking residents to continue to practice social distancing guidelines set forth by our local health authority.  “It’s still Christmas so we’ve got to find a way to celebrate, it’s just going to be a little bit different,” said Edinburg Mayor Richard Molina.

In lieu of the annual hometown parade, this year, the city of Edinburg will kick off it’s first ever drive-thru ‘Holiday at the Park’ celebration on Saturday December 12th from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“It’s going to be something new and innovative-I think everyone is going to love it. I encourage the public to come out, but we’re going to require that they have facial coverings and keep the social distancing to 6 feet or more,” added Mayor Molina.

Edinburg Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ronnie Larralde echoed the same sentiment, “seeing our community leaders come together to bring this event to our community is amazing. We see the importance of bringing family activities to our community during these stressful times.”

Residents visiting the municipal park between December 12th and Jan 2nd will enjoy approximately one mile of prominent lighted holiday-themed displays, live music, and much more. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take photos with the city’s reconditioned historic 25-foot Santa Claus! This festive ‘Holiday at the Park’ event will be FREE and open to the public for a total of 22 nights.
