Edinburg, Texas – On Thursday, August 9, 2018, the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation (EEDC) held the city’s first Commercial Property Tour. The tour began with a welcome breakfast at Edward’s Abstract and Title Co., one of the three sponsors of the event, and was followed by a three-hour tour of available commercial property sites throughout the city including several sites owned by the EEDC.

“We welcome this opportunity to work with our partners and build relationships,” said Edinburg Mayor and EEDC Director, Richard Molina. “This is a great opportunity to showcase what the City of Edinburg has to offer and we look forward to continuing to open our doors to the community and growing our economic development capacity, he continued.

The goal of the tour was to inform commercial brokers and real estate agents about the availability of commercial sites throughout Edinburg.

“The economic opportunities to grow our city are endless,” said EEDC Vice-President Mike Farias to the group during his welcome speech. “Each of the sites you will visit today are in prime locations with development occurring all around. We are excited for the future of Edinburg,” he exclaimed.

Over 40 participants joined Mayor Richard Molina, EEDC Executive Director Joey Treviño, EEDC Board President Gilbert Enriquez, and EEDC Vice-President Mike Farias on the tour.

“Edinburg is positioned for growth,” said Gilbert Enriquez, EEDC Board President. “Everywhere you look our city is expanding and developing. In planning for the future, we are looking to meet the demand of the community by attracting more retailers, manufacturers, companies, restaurants, and businesses,” he added.

The tour focused on seven sites throughout the city including the Edinburg Industrial Park, Ebony Hills Golf Course, The Shoppes at RGV, and the brand new Bert Ogden Arena, among others.

Sponsors of the event included Edwards Abstract and Title Co., Inter National Bank, and SAMES Sam Engineering & Surveying.

“This is an exciting time for the City of Edinburg,” added Treviño. “We are strategically moving forward with our EEDC board’s directive to grow our economic opportunities in Edinburg and to strengthen our competitiveness while continuing to attract families and investors,” he continued.

The EEDC remains committed to promoting Edinburg’s opportunities, development, and quality of life for its citizens.

“There are many more exciting projects in the works for Edinburg, which shows that our city continues to experience tremendous economic activity and commercial growth,” continued Molina. “The EEDC Board and I are already planning more exciting opportunities such as this one, aiming to create an open door policy for economic growth in our city,” he added.
