EDINBURG, Texas- The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) Board of Trustees has approved a $500 employee retention stipend for returning staff. Employees can expect the $500 to be Direct deposited Tuesday, June 28, 2022.
Board President Dominga “Minga” Vela said, “We are lifelong educators here in Edinburg and we understand the wants and needs of our staff. We know it’s been a hard year. This is a small way for us to show our staff that we care about them and appreciate their hard work.” The district has consistently provided competitive salaries in South Texas for teachers and minimum wage employees alike.
“It has been a top priority for us to make sure that our district employees know how valued they are,” said Superintendent of schools Dr. Mario Salinas. “We understand that if you want to attract and retain high quality employees, you have to be
competitive.”
The $500 employee retention stipend was approved by the Board of Trustees
during their meeting Tuesday June 21, 2022.
