EDINBURG, Texas – The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for an exciting membership drive as it prepares to celebrate its 100-year anniversary. The two-day initiative will take place on February 11-12, 2025, bringing together community leaders from various sectors to support the Chamber’s mission and expand its membership base.

Currently, the Chamber proudly serves 662 members and has set an ambitious goal to reach 900 to 1,000 members in its centennial year. This membership drive serves as a unique opportunity to engage with local businesses, highlight the Chamber’s impact, and encourage participation in its initiatives.

“This membership drive is a fun and engaging way to educate businesses about the vital role the Chamber plays in the Edinburg community,” said Ronnie Larralde, Executive Director. “From economic development to advocacy, we are committed to fostering a thriving business environment.”

Since its founding in 1925, the Edinburg Chamber has played a pivotal role in the city’s growth and success. Its efforts have contributed to significant milestones, including the establishment of Pan American University (now UTRGV), the Edinburg Economic Development Corporation, and the Hagger Plant. More recently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chamber was instrumental in providing critical testing kits and resources to local businesses.

“We want the community to recognize that our work goes beyond ribbon cuttings and networking events. We provide essential resources, advocacy, and support to help businesses succeed,” added Larralde.

Membership starts at $250 per year and includes a variety of benefits designed to help businesses grow, connect, and thrive.

The event will feature a lively, friendly competition among nine teams led by former Chamber Board Chairs and prominent community leaders. Each team will strive to recruit the most new members and generate revenue to further the Chamber’s mission.
