EDINBURG, Texas – The City of Edinburg invites the public to participate in the upcoming Veterans Day Parade! This annual event will take place on Saturday, November 6th at 10:00 a.m. along Closner Boulevard also known as the ‘Boulevard of Heroes’.
The parade is free and open to anyone interested in participating. All applicants must complete a simple entry form of participation. Detailed information is required as it is used to announce the entries in the lineup. For more details and to download the entry form visit www.edinburgarts.com/veteransparade or stop by the Dustin M. Sekula Memorial Library or the Edinburg City Hall and pick up a form from the Front Desk. Entry forms are due by Friday, October 29th.
Most Patriotic Float Competition – only individuals using a pick- up truck bed, farm wagon, flatbed truck or trailer may enter the float competition. Vehicles smaller than a pick-up truck bed do not qualify to enter the competition. Judging will be based on the overall appearance of float and atrophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Edinburg schools will be awarded $500 for their school library for Most Patriotic Float – Student Competition.
The parade will begin at Richard R. Flores Stadium on 1800 S. Stadium Dr. & Palm Dr. and end on Closner Blvd. & Loeb St. If you would like to take part in the parade, please contact the Edinburg Library at 956-383-6246 or stop by the library located at 1906 S. Closner Blvd. Edinburg, Texas.
