The Edinburg Arts Foundation Hosts a night of BBQ & Stargazing with Ben Hansen at the 1966 Edinburg UFO Event at the Original Encounter Site

Edinburg, Texas – “In 1966, a strange object came out of the night sky at a ranch north of town and terrorized eight construction workers.” On Thursday, March 30th the Edinburg Arts Foundation will host an evening of fun filled events at the 1966 Edinburg UFO Event at the original encounter site. Spectators will now be able to visit the site where it happened and hear the complete story of Edinburg’s very own Close Encounter, told by local author Noe Torres and local historian Joe Ponce, whose dad investigated the original incident.

Also on the program, is Stargazing with Ben Hansen of the SyFy TV series “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files.” A limited number of tickets will be on sale at the Dustin Michael Sekula Library.

Edinburg’s 2017 “Out of this World” UFO Festival and Conference is just around the corner. If you believe or just want to learn more, join us once again for a two-day event that will kick off on Friday, March 31st with a festival at the Edinburg City Hall Courtyard.

The UFO Festival is free and will feature lots of fun UFO merchandise, live entertainment, a costume contest, costume parade, food, and fun family-friendly activities for all to enjoy.  The festival starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.

Day-two (April 1st) moves the UFO Conference to the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance, where from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. attendees will hear from guest speakers Ben Hansen, Jim Marrs, Erica Lukes, and Dr. Ken Johnston. MC for the conference will be Noe Torres.

The Edinburg City Hall Courtyard is located at 415 West University Drive and the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance is located at 118 Paseo Del Prado.
