Trevino is first woman to be elected for position for Prec. 3 Place 1

Mission, TX – Mission native Dr. Sonia Treviño, rolled to a strong victory in Tuesday’s Democratic primary for Justice of the Peace Precinct 3, Place 1.
Treviño received 51% of the vote on March 3, 2020, to defeat challenger Marco De Luna.
“It is an honor to break barriers by becoming the first woman to win this seat,” Dr. Treviño said. “I am so grateful for the overwhelming show of support from my family, colleagues, friends and complete strangers who took the time to cast their ballot for me. I am truly blessed.”
Treviño has a long history of community service. She has been a member of the Mission School Board for over 11 years. She has also served on the City of Mission Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board for over 15 years. She is also at the helm of a local chiropractic clinic that has served the citizens of Mission for over 27 years.
‘This is my home and I’m proud to represent the residents of this great community in this capacity,” Treviño said. “I will strive to be the champion for the people. It is a great day and I look forward to serving.”
Treviño officially takes office in January.
