“For over 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for children in my community,” she said, adding that her role as a mother has been equally influential. “My greatest joy in life has been being a mom to my six amazing children.”
Treviño Burke said her career included challenges that required persistence and self-confidence. “There were moments I had to find my voice, stand my ground, and believe in myself, even when it felt uncomfortable,” she said. She told younger women in the audience, “Your voice matters, your dreams matter, and you’re capable of more than you know. Never give up.”
Putegnat described Treviño Burke as a mentor and community leader whose impact extends beyond professional achievements. She said Treviño Burke has influenced other women through both formal leadership roles and personal relationships. “She has truly had a huge impact on my life,” Putegnat said, adding that Treviño Burke “continues to pave the way for so many women as she supports, empowers, and elevates women around her.”
Treviño Burke’s career spans multiple sectors, combining clinical practice with civic and economic development work. Her leadership roles, as described during the event, reflect ongoing involvement in organizations focused on health care, business development, and community growth in the Rio Grande Valley.
In her message, Treviño Burke framed the recognition as part of a shared effort among women working in the region. She said the award represents “not just where we’ve been, but where we’re going together, lifting each other up.”
Her remarks emphasized perseverance, mentorship, and the importance of serving as a role model. Through her work in dentistry and community leadership, Treviño Burke was presented as an example of sustained professional commitment combined with efforts to support and guide others.
