Dr. Charles Schwertner, a highly experienced orthopedic surgeon with 23 years of practice, recently shared his thoughts on the latest advancements in surgical technology during an exclusive interview with Mega Doctor News, the premier bilingual medical publication in the Rio Grande Valley. Although Dr. Schwertner does not use the newly unveiled da Vinci 5 robotic system in his orthopedic practice, he recognizes its significance and the potential benefits it brings to the medical community in Brownsville.
Originally from West Texas, Dr. Schwertner spent a significant portion of his career in Georgetown before relocating to the Rio Grande Valley, where he has been a member of the DHR Health team in Brownsville for approximately eight months. Despite being relatively new to the area, Dr. Schwertner has quickly adapted to the community and has become deeply invested in the region’s healthcare landscape. His sister’s long-term residence in the Valley has further strengthened his connection to the area, making him even more committed to providing top-quality care.
