The Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas – RGV Chapter will be hosting their January meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 19th at Russo’s in McAllen at 11:30am to 1:00pm. Lunch is $18. The HWNT is a state organization that empowers women thru education on various topics that are pertinent to a woman’s growth as well as introducing them to key people. Every month there is a key speaker with this month Dr. Barbara Hinojosa speaking on “Are you a 10? The 10 Characteristics of a Servant Leader”.
Dr. Hinojosa is a wife, mother, and lifelong educator living in the Rio Grande Valley. Her experience ranges from being a classroom teacher to campus principal to Central Office Administrator and Migrant Education Director. Dr. Hinojosa currently is the CEO of Leadership Empowerment Group, LLC. and is a full time professor of leadership studies with the School of Business at Our Lady of the Lake University. Dr. Hinojosa has published three books on leadership and is a contributing writer for the Mercedes Enterprise Magazine, The Corpus Christi Examiner, and the Valley Business Reporter. She is a member of the Latina Leadership Network where she collaborates with leaders around the country and leads teleseminars on leadership and gender issues. She provides training seminars, leadership coaching, services, and products to the Business, Education, Healthcare, and Non-profit industries.
To serve her community, Dr. Hinojosa is the Board President for the Hidalgo County Cotillion, Board Member for Ignite for Girls, Board Member for Organization of Women Executives in the RGV, Board Member for the Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Foundation, as well as Advisory Board Member for Excellence in Teaching in the Rio Grande Valley. Leadership Empowerment Group is an organization based in border region of South Texas.
