AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Cleve Doty as Judge of the 455th Judicial District Court in Travis County for a term set to expire on December 31, 2022, or until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
Cleve Doty of Austin is an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General. Previously, he served as counsel for the First Liberty Institute and as an Associate for Baker Botts, LLP. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Federalist Society. He is Chairman of the Texas Academy of Mathematics & Science (TAMS) Advisory Board, former Chairman of the TAMS Alumni Association, and former member of the TAMS Selection Committee. Additionally, he is a member of Southwest Bible Church and a former board member of the Plano Citizens’ Coalition. Doty received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Yale University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago School of Law.
