Edinburg, TX – On Saturday, May 29, Dog Is My CoPilot Inc., is partnering with Palm Valley Animal Society for the first time to help save the lives of animals in need. The animal rescue flight will have more than 50 dogs and cats being flown to Utah and Idaho animal rescue partners. Many shelters like Palm Valley Animal Society receive more cats and dogs than they can place locally. Where there are no shortages of adoptable pets, shelters are turning to animal transports to rescue and re-home adoptable animals from euthanasia.

The flight will depart South Texas International Airport at Edinburg. Animals will arrive at the Edinburg Airport and begin loading the plane at 4:30am at 400 East FM 490 Edinburg, TX

Donna Casamento, Executive Director, said, “Palm Valley Animal Society is thrilled to partner with Dog is My CoPilot on what we hope will be the first of many lifesaving flights in the future. ”

Dog Is My CoPilot is a nonprofit organization that transports animals from overcrowded shelters to adoption centers where loving families are waiting to adopt a new pet. We work collaboratively with city shelters and local animal welfare organizations in fifteen western states to coordinate transports. Our team of VOLUNTEER pilots donate thousands of hours flying so that our air transport services are provided at no cost to our partners. Since our inception, we have helped save the lives of over 17,500 dogs and cats with our transport flights.

“Partnering together with animal organizations like the Palm Valley Animal Society ensures each animal waiting in an overcrowded shelter has the chance to find a home and we are proud to be working together to save more lives. Every animal we transport saves two; the one that we fly and the one that takes its place at the shelter,” said Dr. Peter Rork, Founder and Chief Pilot for Dog Is My CoPilot.
