EDINBURG, Texas – The Edinburg Police Department and the Dog Walker Watch community are excited to announce the inaugural meeting of the Dog Walker Watch group on Thursday, September 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will be held at Bicentennial Park, located at 2202 W. Sprague St.
This meeting is open to all active members and citizens interested in joining the group. All dog enthusiasts are welcome, and dogs are strongly encouraged to attend. It is a fantastic opportunity for members and potential new members to meet fellow officers and participants, share experiences, and discuss upcoming events.
The Dog Walker Watch Program aims to harness the power of community involvement by enlisting pet owners as additional eyes and ears for law enforcement. With dozens, if not hundreds, of neighbors, walking their dogs throughout the community at various times of the day, the program seeks to empower them to assist local law enforcement by observing and reporting any suspicious activity they may encounter while out with their pets.
Bring your furry friends for an evening of networking and community-building in a relaxed and friendly environment.
