EDINBURG, Texas – District clerk staff presented a check to the United Way of South Texas in the amount of $3,600, as a part of their Blues for Bucks Workplace Fundraising Campaign. The fundraising initiative allows employees to wear jeans on Fridays in exchange for a $5 donation. The funds are collected for a six-month period then presented to a nonprofit organization that is randomly selected from a pool of staff-selected charitable organizations.
“We are delighted to give back to our community through this workplace effort and can only hope it makes a difference for the United Way and the many families it serves throughout Hidalgo County,” said Hinojosa.
